Gonzalo’s Super Star
In race of the day the first sailor who managed to go round the bowline buoy was Jesper, followed by Gonzalo and by the Poland Polonoski. At the downwind buoy, Jesper rounded earlier, but made a double jibe, allowing Gonzalo to take the leadership and the control of the race from then on. At the second bowline, Steve Allen suddenly recovered, but without managing to get the leadership, having turned the main buoy in third place, Polonoski in forth, Schurmann in fifth, Miguel Martinho in sixth and Fernando Martinez closing the top 10.
After this very well disputed and competitive regatta, under spectacular conditions, which brought the victory to Gonçalo Costa Hovel - the Argentinean from F2, Neil Pryde, we could watch the first surprise of the World Tour: An announced victory of the Argentinean who is training now a lot in Portugal side by side with Miguel Martinho. The wind has failed and Claudio Alessandrello, the Race Director, considered the competition closed, in this first day.

Steve Allen - From Austrália,
It is always a pleasure to come to the warm, crystal blue water sandy beaches of Portugal, always offering great conditions for windsurfing.
I am stoked to have the opportunity to venture to yet another great location in Portugal to experience all of the above again with great organization and warm friendly hospitality as always.

It will be a great opportunity for us to test our performances
Jesper Vesterstorm, from Denmark, number 3 in the 2007 world ranking, says: …I’ve never been there, but I’m sure that, if the Overpower Club takes us to this spot, we will have a great race.
It will be a great opportunity for us to test our performances, outside the Continental and World Championships.
